No, it sounds like his power is ok.  He lucky to have a smart power supply powered by an AMP chip.

And, I need to add,  the problem isn't with Microsoft, for once.  the problem is that he coders didn't write the code properly.

Currently you can install a driver under WinXP without having to reboot.

I'd rather blame Mircosoft just because it's Windows.   No other reason than that.

I've done this six seven or eight times now. If you have a mouse connected to the computer take it off plug in your Razor. Reboot so the other mice drives don't load. With your razor plugged in click on the exe file and when done your good to go .At this point you can put back your other mouse at it will work too.

BTW, I was driving by the offices of Aden Enterprises ( Holding company that owns Razer ) last night, so I stopped by to see if I could talk to them since they aren't responding to emails.

Guess what?  They aren't there.  they weren't paying their lease, so there is an eviction notice posted in the window dated January 23, 2003.  The umber listed for them in the phone book is disconnected.  Sounds to me like I was right when I said these peeps would go under.

And now this vital company is owned and operated in the EU? *sigh*

Razer Announcement 03/24/03
The Legend is Back!
Razer proudly announces an EXCLUSIVE alliance with TerraTec in Europe. With the help of TerraTec we officially announced the new & much improved Mystify/Razer Boomslang 2500. For those of you who are not familiar with TerraTec, they are a relatively small, extremely high quality and aggressive maker of sound cards, video cards, audio components, speakers and more.

France maybe:lol

I have the Prototype "Terratec Mystify Razer Boomslang 2500" delivered on Saturday17thMay..to TEST (UK) ( not for resale printed on the base )
I need a Question answered plz..
Q.Is it possible to sweep across your mousemat with the Razer any type 1000,2000? or does it lock up.
i.e in any FPS with the sensitivity about 5 if I try and turn round too quick with the mouse, it does not register on the screen.
The only way to use it, is to turn the sensitivity up and only move slow tiny amounts. it IS the mouse thats locking up it's NOT a driver issue it is the rollers that the ball moves!
Maybe their like that and i need to get used to it 8/
anyways someone plz tell me..This is the prototype and not for resale so it could be that their still having problems.! they have been recalled already and held the release untill June/July :;(:

Well, I have the 2000, and have no real problem if I keep the critter cleaned, and also because I replaced the nylon pressure wheel with a metal one.  that kept the mouse from "skipping" when I was turning quickly.

I am sure that Boomslang can post the link with information about the mod we made to our mice.

Also, feel free to sign and post as a non-anonymous user.  It always makes the conversation easier to have. ;)

I looked for the link and couldn't find it.The problem is the plastic wheel that rests against the mouse ball. Moving the mouse for top right hand to bottom left hand of the mouse pad. The ball moves away from the roller. So the pointer stalls or moves slower. I have made some wheels with some success. I have sent them email after email with no response. I ask if this problem is in the 2500. Again no response. I would talk to in person. Please contact me at jonmstacir1@cox.net

Here's what I get.
Put the mouse sensitivity down to 1, now move it up & down OR left and right quicky and the mouse does not move!, it just spazzs out or stays roughly in the same position, and im not moving the mouse that quick, and not very far about the width of the mouse

Wow, that's not a good thing!

How did you get a pre-production model anyway?  Or should we ask? :D

ZWarrior:-You can ask no problem. :-)
here's the email's i got from whom im dealing with..
************************************************************
1. we are very sorry, but we are not able to deliver the razer boomslang to
you.

Yesterday we recieved an e-mail that comprised the information that the item
you are interested in is not good enought for beeing sold yet.
There are qualitative defects, so the producer is not able to deliver the
mouse to us. We hope you are able to understandd this.

We are able to offer you admission in our card index. So we will send you a
message as soon as we will be able to deliver the mouse. You may decide
either to buy the mouse or even not. Our information is that the mouse will
be delivered in June or July.

**I sent an email back with a bit of a moan&grumble**Because they said they had 12 of them!

2. We are so sorry, that we are not able to deliver the "real" mouse to you.
But there is something we are able to do for you because we are not willing
to anger you.

Today we got a prototype of the boomslang 2500. It is not for resale and
perhaps it is not as good as the mouse which would be delivered to us in
June/July, but you can get it from us. We will send this mouse to you and
you can test the product. As soon as the real mouse is delivered to us, you
will get your paid item.

What do you think about this? Should we send the money back to you together
with the prototyp, or should we keep it until the boomslang is ready to be
shipped (June or July).

Please let us know what you want us to do.
*********************************************************************************
and that was it!---who would knock that back ehh?

Not bad!

I would have certainly jumped at THAT deal.  Need to find out what it would take to be on their beta testing team.  I use their mouse exclusively, and we promote it at EVERY event.

Gonna have to send another email their way. ;)

I'll try find out, but I think it may be a while before they update the Boomslang again---lol Boomslang 6500---

btw is it possible to sweep from one side of your mat to the other (quite fast) and register all the way.??

if I take the ball out and move the rollers with my finger I can recreate the same problem--it can only spin up to a certain speed--although the rollers spin, the cursor stops dead, it does it with both rollers.

Tack the cover off the mouse so you can see the rollers. The mouse ball may be bouncing and not turning the rollers mine did the samething. But this way you can verify if the roller are moving.

Hmm, if you can manually move the rollers and recreate the stutter, then it would sound move like the optical sensor in the mouse isn't capable of reading the changes fast enough to track the movement of the wheel.
