Today a 20 year old Califorian guy has finished the Rubik's cube in 11.13 seconds!

my fastest time ever was a minute. but I broke it and the put it back together in that time.

If I am practiced up, I can do a cube in under 7 minutes. But I have to practice a few times and have my book handy for some of the moves. been a few months since I did it though.

the thing that helped them the most is that those coube were smooth ationed. They had lots of use and were broken in.

True. Plus you can lube them as well. Mine is fairly loose already, so I have never worried about lubing the thing.

Lubed, not oiled. Oil would damage the parts.

You could use a dry lube.
