Found this bit over at The Register. Some Claim that Sony CD is a root kit, and all arrows seem to point to yes.
Read this.

Yet another reason that the RIAA and it's members ought to be prosecuted for their tactics.

*Sigh*

Get a clue Sony.   The music delivery paradigm has shifted.  Adjust or be extinct.

I just think that the whole matter is dumb.

I am glad that CA has blacklisted Sony, made the DRMs Spyware, But the fact that Sony Went there is retarded. The willingness and t intesion to do such a thing is outragious

This is because the paradigm has shifted, and the companies want to hold on to their control that went with the previous paradigm.  Now music can and will be delivered direct to the consumer, and without the input of the record companies!

Not to mention the previouly state "you can only play our CD and nobody elses"
influense. So far PestControl has the best from of removel of the DRM. Sony's fix would crash you system.

Untill you re-install. But still that is too much work and that it is kind of like say, Sony wants only its products to run on your machine.

This article cracked me up. They aren't even appogizing for the rootkit, just the security vulnerablity. but it is good to see them recalling the CD

i hate large corporate entities, i really do.  I personally think that they would make more money if they would just stop trying to make money.

(that may sound stupid, but if you think about it, it would work)
