A man walks into a doctors office with a banana sticking out of one ear, a cucumber sticking out the other ear, and a carrot sticking out of his nose.  When the doctor walked into the room and saw him he immediately knew what was wrong and said..."I can see your not eating right."

A young man named John received a parrot as a gift.
The parrot had a bad attitude and an even worse  vocabulary.
Every word out of the bird's mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with
profanity.
John tried and tried to change the bird's attitude by consistently saying
only polite words, playing soft music and anything else he could think of
to "clean up" the bird's vocabulary.
Finally,John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.
The parrot yelled back.
John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder.
John, in desperation, threw up his hand, grabbed the bird and put him in
the freezer.
For a few minutes the parrot  squawked and kicked and screamed.
Then suddenly there was total quiet.
Not a peep was heard for over a minute.
Fearing that he'd hurt the parrot, John quickly opened the door to the
freezer.
The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arms and said "I
believe I may have offended you with  my rude language and actions.
I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully
intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and
unforgivable behavior."
John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As he was about to
ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior, the
bird continued, "May I ask what the turkey did?"

                HAPPY  THANKSGIVING!

I would have to say that E on question 5 is wrong.  You don't have to have shared folders to have a peer to peer network....how about just sharing a printer?  Isn't that a peer to peer network?  Or perhaps a game?  No folders have to be shared to have peer to peer game play. To be truly accurate, number five's answer should be A or C and D. But not A and C and D because A and C are mutually exclusive.

I would definitely throw a fit with question 2 answer C.  See this Link

That one is pretty bogus!

An atheist was walking through the woods.

"What majestic trees!  What powerful rivers!  What
beautiful animals!" he said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river he heard a
rustling in the bushes behind him.  He turned to look.
He saw a 7 foot grizzly charging towards him.

He ran as fast as he could up the path.  He looked over
his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing in on
him.

He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was
even closer.

He tripped and fell on the ground.  He rolled over to
pick himself up but saw the bear right on top of him,
reaching for him with his left paw and raising his
right paw to strike him.

At that instant the Atheist cried out:

"Oh, my God! ...."

Time stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out
of the sky:

"You deny my existence for all of these years, teach
others I don't exist, and even credit creation to a
cosmic accident.

Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?

Am I to count you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light,

"It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to
treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make
the BEAR a Christian?"

From the light, the voice replied: "Very well."

Then the light went out.
The sounds of the forest resumed.

Then the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws
together, bowed his head and spoke:

"Lord, bless this food, which I am about to receive for
the nourishment of my body through Christ our Lord.
Amen."

ZW I would have to disagree with 5.  a peer to peer network can be setup with just 2 XP clients of course maybe XP is considered a network OS, I don't know. I would have said A because all the computers have to be in a workgroup of some kind, not necessarily the same workgroup although that makes life easier.

Life / *** Rediscovering the Kingdom ***
« on: October 13, 2004, 10:18:01 AM »
Well, this thread has progressed much faster than I anticipated, and I haven't had a lot of time to pull together the scriptures and do some of the research that I would like to, but here are some thoughts.

Dominion
In my studies it is well documented that we, meaning mankind and especially believers, have dominion or rule over the earth from an authority stand point. We don't always exercise that authority however.  To really bake your noodle I present the following verses (NIV):
2 Corinthians 4:4 "God of this world (age depending on translation)"
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Ephesians 6:12 "Ruler of the darkness of this world"
12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
John 12:31 "Prince of this world"
31Now is the time for judgment on this world; now the prince of this world will be driven out.
John 14:30
30I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me,
John 16:11
11and in regard to judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
A conclusion that can be drawn is that Satan has some rulership of this world.

Ownership
As for ownership, I do not have a solid opinion either way. I present to you one of Jesus's parables to show the case for us not having ownership:
Mathew 21
The Parable of the Tenants

33"Listen to another parable: There was a landowner who planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a winepress in it and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and went away on a journey. 34When the harvest time approached, he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit.
35"The tenants seized his servants; they beat one, killed another, and stoned a third. 36Then he sent other servants to them, more than the first time, and the tenants treated them the same way. 37Last of all, he sent his son to them. 'They will respect my son,' he said.
38"But when the tenants saw the son, they said to each other, 'This is the heir. Come, let's kill him and take his inheritance.' 39So they took him and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
40"Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?"
41"He will bring those wretches to a wretched end," they replied, "and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time."
42Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the Scriptures:
" 'The stone the builders rejected
       has become the capstone[8] ;
   the Lord has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes'[9] ?
43"Therefore I tell you that the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce its fruit. 44He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed."[10]

God's Omnipotence
This is a little off topic, but I would like to address it.  Yes God is Omnipotent, however he also cannot lie, therefore when he says something like "Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life." (Gen 9:15 b), his omnipotence is then restricted.  So yes god is all powerful, but he will never do anything contrary to his nature or character.

I'm not looking for much of an upgrade for a while....maybe a video card if I find the right price.  I want to wait for  64 bit to prove it's place, and PCI express, maybe DDRII.  In my opinion in a year or so these technologies will have begun to mature, and that will be a MAJOR upgrade ($$$). So until then I'm pretty happy with my 2500+ and ATI 9600 Pro.
