Whatever / Results
« on: July 12, 2002, 07:58:38 AM »
First go here.

Here are my results:

The lean of your sentence communicates your optimistic or pessimistic tendencies. Your lean indicates that:

You are even-tempered and extremely reliable. You have control over your emotions, and you like rules. You should be a substitute teacher.

The spacing of your words communicates how well you get along with others. Your spacing indicates that:

You are extroverted and spontaneous. You are at ease with people, but often times suffer from insecurity.

The loop of your "g's" communicates your attitudes toward sex. Your "g's" indicate that:

You are very creative. Your imagination runs wildly around your head. You also have an incredibly strong libido. By the way, The Great Goosini is free next Friday...

The bar height of your "t's" communicates your work ethic and ambition. Your "t's" indicate that:

You are very precise. Organization is very important to you, and you use your self-control to get the job done. The Great Goosini does not want to mess with you.

The dots above your "i's" communicate your self-image. Your dots tell me that:

You are artistic and individualistic. You crave to be the center of attention and are attracted to fads. The Great Goosini sees that you are very loyal, and you use your artistic qualities to better those around you.

Example:

I say: Crud
Spade says: Wolvy's skilz
Zeet says: lacking
Morpheus says: ZW's hair
Dragon says: sunglasses

and so on and so forth.

I will start it...

OK, here is your chance to show off your arcane knowledge of quotes from movies/TV shows/Etc.  But there are some rules:

[list=1]
  • One quote at a time.
  • Try and specify which quote you are answering, otherwise it's gonna get real confusing.
  • Keep it clean.
  • Have fun!

As you are all quite knowledgeable in the hardware out there, pretend that a newbie has just asked you what he/she should get with a $1500 budget.

Their goal is gaming, and general home use.

We aren't talking opinion only, let's provide links to validate facts, and as much info as possible!

First read this:
http://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/02q2/020506/index.html

THEN comment on the following questions:

1) Now that Intel is leading again, will you be more willing to use either processor?

2) Does this impact the market?

Now discuss, not flame, discuss...

Taunting Room / The Taunting Thread
« on: May 02, 2002, 12:08:35 PM »
Darkness falls on the city, and the denizens of the night begin to prowl.  Out of the alley a figure comes running, looking back periodically.

The figure runs to the next corner and starts across the street.  A resounding CRACK sounds, and the figure falls to the pavement lifeless, and headless.

Four stories above, a shadowy figure moves away from the edge, and sheaths his rifle.  "Told him to stay in teh shadows, I don't think Dragon_Master is ever gonna learn."

He moves off into the shadows, searching for other prey.

Ask the techies! / System Lockup Issue
« on: April 25, 2002, 01:33:10 PM »
I am experienceing a bunch of problems here guys, and need some input.

OS: Win2K Pro (sp2)
CPU: AMD TBird 1GHz
RAM: 512MB
Vid Card: Prophet II MX (GeForce2 MX)

Symptoms:  Prior to cleaning out the system, I would get lockups at anytime, after running a while, particularly in "heavy load" games like SS2, MOHAA, and JK2.  It would lockup when just sitting running Outlook as well though.

I blew the system out, cleaned all the fans and filters, and reseated all the cards, and the general lockup ended, but the "heavy load" stops and lockups continued.   But now I could recover from them by either hitting "Esc" or calling up the Task Manager then returning to the game.

I noticed two thing now though:
1) There are error messages in the System Log pertaining to the Ultra 100 Controller.  But not in a few days.
2) When I played JK2 last night, along with the standard graphics only lockups (fixed by hitting escape then returning to the game) and the sound and graphics lockups (fixed by calling up Task Manager then returning to the game) I am starting to see textures that are colored wrong.

Thoughts:
1) Bad HD, Bad VidCard?
2) Maybe bad drivers for Vid Card? (current version 6.13.10.2311)
3) Reload now that it's clean and try again?

Any suggestions?

Holy Carps!
This game is fun!  Event though I haven't really had a chance to use the Force powers yet, I have been able to "Leap tall building in a single bound".  The Force Jump rocks.  I only wish that I had had a sniper rifle at the same time.  I was on top of a tall building, and nothing to hit anybody with. :D
