Hardware / OCZ is Filing for Bankruptcy
« on: November 28, 2013, 11:01:27 PM »
Sad to hear this, OCZ may be no more soon. I really liked their products even though they did tend to be a little more costlier.

Hi everyone, since we don't really have a place for this I'll just post it here.

I have 2 Steam keys for Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY and Batman Arkham City GOTY that I'm looking to get rid of for a steal. It's a first come, first serve. If you toss 5 bucks my way, that would help otherwise message me if you want them!

Here are the links to both:

I didn't pick a spot yet, wasn't too sure where I want to sit but I figured I'd see where you're sitting and go from there. Last event I was in the back admin table with everyone, wouldn't mind going there again but of course I was the only Ambush supporter.

Also wouldn't mind a full table without paying for 2 seats too, hopefully it won't be too sold out but we'll see.

LAN Parties / Netwar 23

Netwar 22 just wrapped up and it was the largest event ever! The event sold out with 244 tickets which all went to The United Way of the Midlands.

I did talk to Curium Saturday night and he mentioned the place is reserved for the end of the April of 2012 and that they are limiting down to two events a year now.

So mark it down in your calender!

Whatever / Re: Car show, back in May. Car audio I do.
« on: September 23, 2011, 11:07:35 PM »
I'll have to take a look at those. I was going to go to Best Buy and NFM just to walk around and see whats out there.

I think my car should have all of that in there now, it had a cd player installed by NFM back in 2004. The only thing I know I'll have to get is just a cover for an extended drive bay since the height is larger than normal. I'd have all that now if it wasn't for my cd player being stolen while I was in Florida...

I was looking at ones below 100, but I probably wouldn't say more than 150. I'm not looking for anything too fancy other than playing cd's and a possible support for an mp3 player. I saw that they were putting hard drives in cars for that type of thing so I thought there might of already been some on the market.

I did see a lot out there that has a usb enabled port, just haven't heard too much on what they can do with it. This will be for my 92 Buick Century so like I said, nothing too fancy. Just something to pass the hour drive to and from work. Its got a cassette player in there now with an adapter to listen to music but those cables keep getting destroyed and I'm getting tired of buying or soldering them back together.

Awesome job and congrats.

Good thing you just mentioned this too, I'm looking at getting a new cd player for my car. Any recommendations? I know I'd love to find one with an internal hard drive but I haven't seen any around  yet.

Good news everyone, Valve decided to release Team Fortress 2 for free!

You can download the game through their Steam client at any time you please.

This service will be supported through micro transactions which has done other companies so well in the last few years.

I figured that would happen sooner or later. You don't ever want to attack the people that review your products.

That's what it sounds like. Its gotten so bad for the PR department that they had something interesting to say to the reviewers.

LAN Parties / Intel LANFest NETWAR 21.0: April 8th - 9th
« on: March 23, 2011, 09:13:49 PM »
Taken from the Netwar Email:

Quote from: Curium
NETWAR has become part of the Intel LANFest organization and events.  What does this mean?  Nothing but good news all around.  Intel LANFest through their sponsors cover all of our event expenses.  What does this mean for you?  Your entire door entry fee that you pay, will go 100% towards charity.  For this event we are donating to United Way of the Midlands.  Not only does your door entry go to charity, Intel also matches your donation, doubling it.  For example, if we were to sell out our 240 BYOC seats, that would bring in $6,000, with Intel matching we would end up donating $12,000 to the charity after the event.  Very cool!  Not only do the LANFest sponsors facilitate our event by offsetting the expenses to run it, but they also donate some AMAZING prizes to give away to you the attendee.  I am talking serious prizes: processors, solid state hard drives, memory, computer cases, power supplies, video cards, and more!  In VERY large amounts – let’s just say if you were to attend you are VERY likely to walk away with something awesome and many times worth your event entry fee.  This is great news for our events and you the attendee, I can see our events in Omaha growing very rapidly.  But we need your support to get us started and help us reach our charity donation goals.  What do you say?  Easy enough right?  Register for the event, pay your entry fee towards charity, come play video games for 26 amazing hours of fun, and head home with an amazing door prize.

Sounds like they've got some cool things going on this time. I'll be signing up shortly if anyone else is interested in joining me.

Hardware / Western Digital - My Hero!
« on: March 05, 2011, 10:53:32 AM »
Hey Z, you wanted me to let you know about this and I completely forgot but I just got around to shipping my external off to Western Digital for an RMA due to corrupting almost everything I put on there.

Instead of sending me back a passport at 160 gigs which was the original size, they decided to upgrade me. This is what I'm getting!

I came across this article today and found it to be pretty interesting. It deals with flawed IT security and how one member of the IT staff can even bring down a fortune 500 company.

LAN Parties / Re: Netwar 20 - nov-13th

Netwars date has been changed. Here is the follow up email for everyone.

Quote from: Curium
Greetings,

I know everyone is very excited about NETWAR 20.0, however due to unforeseen circumstances we are going to move the date of the event from November 12-13 to December 3-4.  We apologize for this inconvenience and we hope that you will still be able to make it to the event on December 3rd and 4th.  This will be our first event ever in the month of December in the 8 years we have been hosting LAN parties.  Very exciting!

If you have already registered and prepaid and you plan on attending December 3rd and 4th then you will not need to take any action on your part.  If you have registered but have not prepaid, then what are you waiting for!  Get yourself paid up!  If you have not done either, then you got issues, you are missing out on one of the greatest LAN parties in the country!  Get yourself registered and paid.

If you cannot make it out to the event on the new date, then please unregister from the event if you have registered for it.  If you have also prepaid, please contact us and request a refund.

All of the prepay deadlines have been moved back 3 weeks.

Again, we apologize for the inconvenience, we hope this does not stop you from being able to make it out to an awesome NETWAR LAN party and have a great time!
