So, as of late I've been working toward opening up a car audio shop. I do car audio install on the side right now, Kinda big ones. Anything from Show, to Sound Quality, OEM upgrades to iPad, and Android integration, in car PC too. I just got some what nationally recognized, Though I'd share.
Here is the car: (car club web site I belong to and webadmin)

Awesome job and congrats.
Good thing you just mentioned this too, I'm looking at getting a new cd player for my car. Any recommendations? I know I'd love to find one with an internal hard drive but I haven't seen any around yet.

What's you budget. I have several recommendations. As for hard drives there aren't any that I know of, they tried it a few years back, but they were unreliable.
You can get USB enabled head units that can support a hard drive, they can get slow with a large drive. Also they can access Thumbdrives. Are looking for Bluetooth, Nav, any of those options?

I was looking at ones below 100, but I probably wouldn't say more than 150. I'm not looking for anything too fancy other than playing cd's and a possible support for an mp3 player. I saw that they were putting hard drives in cars for that type of thing so I thought there might of already been some on the market.
I did see a lot out there that has a usb enabled port, just haven't heard too much on what they can do with it. This will be for my 92 Buick Century so like I said, nothing too fancy. Just something to pass the hour drive to and from work. Its got a cassette player in there now with an adapter to listen to music but those cables keep getting destroyed and I'm getting tired of buying or soldering them back together.

I would say:
Pioneer DEH-3300UB
It offers both, 3.5mm aux, and USB. It also has CD-r mp3 and stuff. (not very technical I know, you get the idea. lol) you could plug a hard drive or Lard USB Thumb drive. Price: $100.00
Apline CDE-122
It offer the same, plus it offer Pandora link. You can control Pandora channels through this head unit. It's a bit pricier then the Pioneer, $160.00
Kenwood KDC-HD548U
This offer the same as the first two, minus the Pandora link, but in it's place it has a HD receiver. this one is $145.00
With this I can install these for you, you'll need a wire harness adapter for the Buick, that's $15.00,
and an antenna adapter, another $15.00.
I can get the butt-end connectors, or i can solder the wire harness. Hope this helps.
All of these head units are really good for their cost.

I'll have to take a look at those. I was going to go to Best Buy and NFM just to walk around and see whats out there.
I think my car should have all of that in there now, it had a cd player installed by NFM back in 2004. The only thing I know I'll have to get is just a cover for an extended drive bay since the height is larger than normal. I'd have all that now if it wasn't for my cd player being stolen while I was in Florida...

Glad you have found what work sofr you Jolly. Very happy to see you excited about a profession.

Z, I have always had a passion for car audio. I got discouraged for a long time after my tools got stolen back in 2003. I all way like computers, but it was never anything I wanted as a career. This offer both technical knowledge and artistic ability at the same time...or closely tied together.
Anderson, I believe Best Buy carries all three all those models. I'd check them out for sure.

Glad to hear you are back on track.
