All I can say is, you have inspired us to work on the combo.  Many of the teams we faced at Netwar learned what the power of the combo was.  I haven't seen that much scorched earth in a LOOOONG time.  Like since facing you in Waverly! ;)

well fellas, i just played Krazykk and we've discussed it and we are forming a duo in UT2K3 and hopefully we can get more people to join our "team". He's been one of the best people I've played in a looooong time, and as Ambush learned to respect the Shock rifle so have i the translocator. Even in a distance map he managed to frag me tons with the TL. Great game.  See ya at the next LAN folks.

The thing about playing against you is the first time it truely is a suprise to see your style.  The suprise is over now and techniques been developed to combat your particular style.  The party is over in UT for you.

As for UT2K3, we don't play it very much as a team, but I can teach anyone to be good a bombing run in a couple of minutes.  The game as a whole is way too Quake-ish for the most of us to really get into.

tru, i have a certain style, as anyone who plays UT does. However, yours have already have been weighed the first encounter. that is how I dominated you at the UT CTF tourny at nerd club. If you would like to challenge me 1 vs 1, that would be cool.

If you wanted to challenge me 2 vs 1, that would be even better, it's not that I would die less but rather that I get into the groove faster when there are more targets aiming for me. However, not in capture the flag because of the extra objective that I can't outrun ( meaning when I'm the only one on the team, it's easy for the oposition to outrun me with the flag when everyone on his or her team is gearing down on me. kinda like everyone against me in basket ball.... no fun.....i cry alot).

No I dont practice with Godlike bots, and no I dont sit at home playing 4 or more hours a day (mostly cause my comp died about a month ago). I just play to understand fully how all of the weapons work and  practice my aiming (you dont need bots or people to practice this) .

My favorite gun in UT (unlike popular belief) is not the shock rifle. I use it in 2k3 because the other weapons fall short.....literally) and I used it mostly in the Oribital map because I wasn't in a position to get a sniper rifle when I was holding your flag in my base while everyone else on my team was trying to get our flag back. Since it has a ranged and an insta hit weapon, I knew I could take out the snipers from the top back platform and also clear about 3-4 people at the same time with the combo. My  style is dominant because it's adaptive, not because i jump around like a silly no0b.  I prefer the bio-rifle and Pulse-rifle in close quarter matches, and for "duh" reasons i like the shock-rifle and sniper rifle for distance maps. I am not to interested in the Insta-gib translocator, not because it is not effective which it is (i know this first hand playing against KrazyKK sheesh ), but rather that I prepare for the matches that the admin sets for no translocators, like in most domination matchs. It would suck to be so dependent on weapon only to have it taken away from you when it counts.

I know I am not the best at UT, or probably not even in the top 30%. I just  learn to try to understand the game and everything there is to know about it, and I am still learning alot, and I love to teach people optimal way of practicing, especially in 2k3.

I am also confused as to why you think that I would somehow play you at nerd club then sit on my thumb afterward while you were practicing tactics against my "style". I will admit, I didn't really start practicing much until I read the forums all of you left about the 1-2 combo. Once I read that everyone will practice with that rifle and practice tactics against it, what do you think I did? That's right, switch weapons . Please tell me you did the same and prepared for it.

I'm hoping this has somehow inspired you to practice more. GL

Actually, it wasn't so much that we disliked the gun, just that most people really don;t use that weapon.

For my part, I found that I could pretty much adapt to your style unless I faced the blue gun.   You were so dominant with it at Waverly, that I was thrown off my groove.  What you did was point out to us a glaring problem with our tactics.  Suddently we were facing a weapon that we hadn't had to face in the hands of someone who knew how to use it.

I feel like we owe you a debt of gratitude for that.  Now we are more aware of what was once more of a overrated gun.

I agree with you regarding your choice of the pulse gun by the way.  A VERY effective close quarters weapon, just ask Spade! ;)

Don't sell your skillz short though, you have more than just the ability to use that weapon on your side.  I saw what you could do, and I respect you very much as an opponent.  It was an honor to get spanked by you.  Only wish we could have played another map to see how it worked out then.

I am really looking forward to watching you play at Lan-Bush! Slider.  It sould be a lot of fun to see it from the spectator view instead of the target view! :D

( BTW, Opie wasn't trying to dis you, just let you know that he is training to respond to that weapon as well as he does the others. )

Slider, I wasn't trying to pee in your cheerios.  I meant no disrespect in any way.  I very much like a challenge and you by far have presented the most interesting one in quite a while.

My favorite weapon is the sniper rifle.  Just ask anyone.  There are maps the no one likes to play me on, and for good reasons too.  CTF-Orbital is one of my most hated maps.  I just plain don't play that map very well, and I know it's just a mental block.

I'm am looking forward to meeting you in competition again.  Your a worthy opponet and there just aren't that many around anymore.

KrazyKK and myself played some UT2k3 the other night. Woohoo...that was a BLAST!   I got my butt handed to me in a paper bag...and THEN he lit it on fire!  I have seen my desperate need to grow in UT2k3 and I am taking necessary steps to do that. Not to dis my clan in any way...but I decided to venture out and play with KrazyKK and Slider in UT2k3 at LANbush 2003.

As far as regular UT, Slider, you were an awesome oppenent in Waverly, as you will be at LAN-bush 2003.  I enjoy the challenge of a great player as yourself. It shows me my weaknesses, it teaches me to continue to adapt, and inspires me to continue to become better.
