I’m thinking of getting a new HDD because my 40Gig WDC HDD is filling up and I only have 9.65Gig left....

So I was wondering where should I putt my priority ???
1. In my C: drive Currently a WDC 30Gig
2. In my D: drive backup disk currently 40Gig
3. Transfer most of the files to one of my other 2 drives that are lying around and switch my 30Gig C: to the 40Gig.............

but anyway Tell me what you think and why.... Please....

P.S. I was looking into the WDC JB (8MB cache) series (The 80Gig I found for $130).  The WDC with the 2MB cache is $105 on the same site…

If you have the resources, I would keep the smaller drive as C: and use the larger drive as the Data drive.  then add a third (if you have the controllers for it) to use for backups.  Though backing up to CD would make it easier to store on the shelf.

Perhaps try backing up to a drive stored in a USB 2.0 External 80GB drive?

WRT the USB 2.0, get the expansion card for it.

When you say that the RAID controller won't accept the drivers, are you talking about when you try to install the OS on it?  Or otherwise?  Is this on the mobo?  If so, there should be drivers from the manufacturer.

If it is a problem with trying to load the OS, and the OS is NT/Win2K/XP, have you used the F6 option to load the drivers?

Yes I know all of that....

The controler is intagraded into the MoBo and I found some drivers for my OS (Win XP-SP1) but windows wont let me load them :;(: because thay are not "Digitaly signed" and I dont rememmber the loop hole for that...

anyway my MoBo isi way outdated and is starting to have trubbles (i.e. my sound card only works in one specific slot, all others will not work.)

So. as soon as I have the money to spend Im getting a ATI XP 2000 or 2100
and a nice ABit MoBo with Raid.....

That will take care of all my problems and my system will be 98% compleate

Yeah, 98% complete.  At least for a year or so, then you will be only 2% complete!

ZW, what can I say?  I've only spent $30 on all the monitors I've had in the last 10 years.  I would think that yours could be written off as a business expense if you really tried.  Personally, I get all of mine free of charge.  :P

Speaking of sales,
I have a friend that will have a brand new, never been used at all 64MB ATI 7000.  He is asking $50.  He will have it as soon as his new PC arrives.

He ordered a new Compaq, and this is the card that comes with it.  He wanted a better card, but they couldn't put it in.  He bought the better card, and when the nes system comes in, it's swappin' time!

Email me if you are interested.  I will pass it on to him.
