According to Infinity Ward, Call of Duty 2 is using all-new tech for the sequel, including a proprietary graphics engine to replace the Quake 3-powered system from before. "[We're] not using anything from Call of Duty 1," claims Collier, but even though the game clearly looks sharper than the original, there's a familiarity to the characters and weapons, as if seeing the original game suddenly converted to HDTV.

Well, I guess I better start saving for it.

I figure that is the only game I will need for the rest of the year.

Maybe some Battlefeild 2, but Call of Duty 2 seems more of a cannot survive without type of game.

I knew they weren't Going with Q3e But I hadn't heard what they would be using. They're keeping a tight lid on it too. The was a rumor that the D3e might be used but again no fact based reports have been made.

I would really like to know what they're using.
I doubt they Dev'd there own unless they Contracted.

The mystery is to much I am going to burst with anticipation. Ahh!

There is a chance that they could be coming up with something of their own to probably keep quiet on the production of the game.

Where did you get the info on the minimum requirements for COD2?

I'm pretty sure that you are not going to need a 4  or 5 GHz processor to run it.

Military Channel to work on Call of Duty 2

Expect documentaries and vignettes

THOSE OF us who just love to waste our lives watching the same program repeated again and again and again will be pleased to note that Activision has teamed up with the Military Channel Stateside to produce a "Making Of" documentary for Call of Duty 2: Big Red One.
The documentary will tie in the making of the videogame with the history of the real-life American military unit which was, we’re told by Activision, the most decorated in the US Army at the time.
The Military Channel will also produce a series of historical vignettes which will feature in both Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One – and yes, they are separate games.
Indeed, there is a continuing controversy from developers Spark who have sued the publishers, claiming that the idea for Big Red One was nicked off of them, as we reported back in August. µ

For the Xbox, PS2, and GC they will be getting Call of Duty 2: Big Red One. It will  not be available for the Pc. That news has been out for almost a year.

Well So far I am not to impressed. It might only be the demo but I already am not sure about the interface, and were the heck did my sprint go. I didn't like the fact that i couldn't scroll thru my weapons. The fast keys are nice , like a key to throw a grenade or smoke. I  might need to just mess with it a little.

The eye candy is nice I have it set lower on my system but I still saw some nice things. Smoke acts more like real smoke and is easier on the system. the particle use is nice.

haven't seen the bot interaction yet, but it's still only a demo.
they still require you to lead the team some time. the game won't move on untill you do.

I beat the demo on reguar in 7 min. hardend in 10 min and vetran in like 25 or something. it got really hard in vetran.

Not sure what to think but I will probably own it.

Played it on regular several times last night.  The bots do respond to what you are doing.  I forgot there were two inside a door way, and they calmly let me sneak up and stick my head through the doorway.  Then they kindly clubbed the crap out of my head with their rifles!!!

The graphics were incredible.  The controls need a little work, but at least there are 2 weapons, 2 grenades.  I did miss the sprint, and liked the fact that there was no health bar anymore.  If you are hit, duck back and rest for a moment.

I didn't like the way grenades are handled though.  If the enemy throws a grenade, I have to move from behind the crates I am behind and go to a wall.  But if the bots that are with me don't, no big deal.

Ran great on a 2700+ with 1GB RAM and a nVidia 6600/256MB.  I will play it again.

I do wonder how big the final game will be if one short level is almost 700MB.

I was able to bind a key to switch through my weapons. For me I switched it to the mouse wheel.

I am not terribly impressed with the difficulty.  It wasn't until the Verteran mode that I actually had to work at playing.

I am just not impressed with the game as a whole
Maybe the full version will be better. It just seem less then i was
expecting from all the hype. I did notice that the germans do try and run
from the grenades now.

I want my Sprint back
I want my Grenade cooking back

Yea I miss that too.

But one cool thing I have found is that if you do toss the gernade, they will also try and pick it up and throw it at you.
